We’re thrilled to introduce our two new staff members, Cindy Stroud and
Gia Spicola!

Cindy will be our Environmental Justice Organizer for our Delavan-Grider and American Axle campaign work. Cindy is a lifetime East Side resident who formerly worked with individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, and was a union steward.

Gia will be our new Grassroots Development Organizer, and formerly worked for Governor Kathy Hochul in fundraising and event planning.

Tonawanda Zoning Workshop TOMORROW Tuesday August 29

The Town of Tonawanda has released it’s draft zoning code and map for public review! Learn more at our Zoning Workshop en el Centro Comunitario Sheridan Parkside, 169 Sheridan Parkside Drive in Tonawanda drop by anytime tomorrow Tuesday August 29 between 4-8pm. Please register for the workshop today and bring a friend or two! Childcare and food provided. Can’t make it to the workshop but want to submit a comment? The public comment period is currently slated to close este jueves August 31. Please take a moment to send a letter to the town planner to request an extension! Earlier this month we submitted 10 pages of signatures from Clean Air members, partidarios, and Tonawandans all in favor of a comment extensionyour added voice will help amplify this ask!

We will notify all our Tonawanda-area members when the public hearing and vote on the townwide comprehensive zoning amendments is scheduledat this time we expect it will be in October.

March for the Land September 27 Toronto

Clean Air will be attending the September 27 March for the Land mobilization in Toronto in support of the First Nations of Northern Ontario in opposition to unwanted mining activity on their Territories. We will be carpooling from Buffalo on September 26, staying overnight, and returning late evening on the 27th. Click here to learn more, o here to RSVP to join us!

Donations can be dropped off at Burning Books (420 Connecticut Street, Búfalo) diario 11-7. If you have additional supplies or questions, please email flor@jfmfwny.org


  • Bikes, locks and helmets + training wheels (NOTE: Please DO NOT drop bikes off at Burning Books! Email jennifer@jfmfwny.org o flor@jfmfwny.org to coordinate a drop off location and time!)
  • Baby dolls, balls (soccer, volleyballs), chalk
  • Lotion (children’s and adult)
  • Nice wigs, makeup and good smelling soaps or perfumes
  • Strollers
  • Suitcases

As fall and winter weather approaches, JFMF will be collecting warm coats, boots and warm clothing for families. Además, they will be working in the coming weeks to collect school supplies for children; follow JFMF’s social media to stay apprised.
