On Sunday, the Buffalo News confirmed that Braxner LLC, a real estate holding company related to Tonawanda Coke, was the beneficiary in 2006 of $130,000 in property sales and mortgage tax breaks. It is wrong for the ECIDA to provide financial support to a company that emits cancer-causing pollutants into the air, makes their neighbors sick, and stonewall requests to meet with the community. We need the ECIDA to attract businesses that are good neighbors and respect the tax-payers who support them.

On Thursday we will flood the phone lines at the ECIDA to let them know that we don’t approve of their decision. The call-in day will only work if hundreds of people call! Make your call and then share this simple action with friends and family. To make sharing easy we’ve written an email you can send out and included it below. And good old fashioned phone calls still work!

Once you’ve made your call, be sure to report it! We need to know how many people called so we know how much pressure we’ve put on the ECIDA when we follow up at the end of the week. You can report your call by filling out the form on our website or by calling our office and leaving a message.
